The Courage to Create

I have a huge amount of respect for people that can rely on the income of their creative endeavors alone. I look forward to the day that I too can sell sea shells by the sea shore. Which causes me to ask the question “Why can’t I just do that now?”

I could let go of my current lifestyle standard if I didn’t live in such a harsh climate. We get every season here and that calls for an expensive wardrobe of necessity, not including any strictly for the sake of fashion pieces. That reality is hard to accept because essentially I’m admitting to working for clothes. That can’t be right.

I’d also be able to let go of my current lifestyle standard if I could live somewhere inexpensive that was also clean. I know that I can keep my area clean, but it seems to be the rule here in America, if it’s cheap, it’s also dirty. I’m welcoming of facts to the contrary because I’ve lived in four major metro areas in the course of my life, and the ghetto is the same everywhere.

It wouldn’t be so hard to walk away from my current lifestyle standard if I’d be able to maintain current technology in order to stay connected with my readers and potential purchasers of my products. However,  I don’t know of anyone that successfully is able to rely on their creative income without the latest technology. If you know of someone, please tell me where to find them because I’m sure I’d have to go to them.

There are many things that we’re conditioned to want, and if you’ve been reading me for a while you know, I’m working on cutting out those unrealistic expectations. So, where does one begin? I’d love to hear some feedback from you, as I imagine that many of you are creative types. What gave you the courage to create?
